Your name and email address when you make a donation, and additional details (such as phone number and location) when you start a campaign
Payment information (processed securely — we do not store full card numbers)
Campaign content including titles, descriptions, and photos you upload
Messages and communications you send to our support team

Information collected automatically:

Browser type, operating system, and device information
IP address and general location data
Pages visited, time spent on the platform, and click patterns
Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 5)

3. How We Use Your Information

To process donations and payments securely
To communicate with you about your donations, receipts, and campaigns

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

Service providers: Trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the platform (for example, our payment processor Stripe, email services, and analytics providers)
Advertising & measurement partners: To measure how our campaigns perform and to show relevant ads, we share limited technical and event data — such as your IP address, device and browser information, cookie or pixel identifiers, and actions taken on our site — with advertising and analytics partners, including Meta (Facebook) and TikTok. Campaign organizers: When you donate, the organizer may receive your name and donation amount (unless you donate anonymously)
Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users
Business transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred as part of the transaction

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies — including pixels, tags, and device or browser identifiers — to operate Bright Future Foundation, understand how the platform is used, and measure and improve our advertising. Cookies are small files stored on your device.

Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Conversions API: We use the Meta Pixel (which runs in your browser) together with Meta's server-side Conversions API to measure how well our advertising works and to reach relevant audiences. This may involve sharing technical and event information — such as your IP address, browser/user-agent, Meta cookie identifiers where present, and actions like viewing a campaign or making a donation — with Meta. TikTok Pixel: We use the TikTok Pixel to measure advertising performance and reach relevant audiences, which may involve sharing similar technical and event information with TikTok. See the TikTok Privacy Policy.

Your choices. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, and you can limit interest-based advertising through your Meta ad preferences, your TikTok ad settings, and industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out. Because these choices are managed by your browser and by each advertising platform, they are the most reliable way to control this tracking. Disabling certain cookies may affect how the platform works.

6. Security

We take reasonable, industry-standard measures designed to protect your personal data, including SSL/TLS encryption in transit and access controls around the information we hold. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

Bright Future Foundation is not directed at children, and you must be at least 18 years old to make a donation or create a campaign (see our Terms of Use). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and if we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

Campaigns may include information about minors when submitted by a parent, legal guardian, or another person with appropriate authorization. Organizers are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate permission before publishing personal information, photographs, medical information, or other details about a minor. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
